Legislative Decree June 30, 2003, No. 196, art. 7: Right to Access personal data and other rights.
1. The concerned person has the right to know whether personal data is or is not being held about him/her, even if yet to be registered, and their communication in an intelligible manner.
2. The concerned person has the right to obtain information on:
a) the source of the personal data;
b) the aim and modalities of its use;
c) the logic employed in case of the use being made by means of electronic devices;
d) the data identifying the owner, the persons in charge and the representative appointed according to art. 5, par. 2;
e) the subjects or category of subjects with whom the personal data can be shared, or who may get to know about it in their quality of appointed representative in the involved State territory, or of person in charge or of appointee.
3. The concerned person has the right to obtain:
a) the updating, the rectification or, when of his interest, the integration of the data;
b) the deleting, the turning into anonymity or the blocking of the unlawfully treated data, including the data the conservation of which is not compulsory in relation to the aims for which they were collected or later treated;
c) a statement that the operations according to letters a) and b) have been brought to the knowledge, also for their contents, of those to whom the data has been communicated or spread to, except for when such compliance is impossible to accomplish or involves an amount of means clearly disproportionate in respect to the protected right.
4. The concerned person has the right to make opposition, in full or in part:
a) to the usage of his personal data, for legitimate reasons, although pertaining the reason for the collection.
b) to the usage of his personal data for the purpose of sending him/her advertising material, or for direct sale, or for the carrying out of market surveys or commercial advertising.
