The building was built in 1749 on the site formerly occupied by the tower houses owned by the family De’ Rossi based on a drawing of architect Raffaello Ulivi and completed by Salvatore Piccioli in the same century.
The project has concerned the entire structure with works of restoration and functional adaptation to cultural activities and for the new offices of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio of Pistoia e Pescia.
The project integrates the new functional additions to the philological restoration of the building, through limited and timely interventions, in accordance with the general characteristics of the structure. The project also included the construction of the exhibition spaces dedicated to the preservation and display of the Foundation’s collection.
